The role of Loss Adjusters

The role of the Loss Adjuster is varied and involves the investigating, managing and negotiating of Energy related insurance claims such as fire explosion in upgrading and refining facilities; pipeline failures; rig losses; well control; power generation; and mining.

Our duties are spread across differing environments and encompass:

  • Onsite Survey of damage / losses as well as meeting with relevant technical personnel
  • Investigate Cause
  • Review of technical documentation
  • Contract & Policy Interpretation
  • Quantification and valuation of remedial measures
  • Negotiation of settlement
  • Preparation of Investigation Reports
  • Travel is required to survey damages as well as meet with technical representatives
  • Role involves engaging with both oil companies and local/international insurance companies.
  • Continuing Education where appropriate (including insurance qualifications as required)

Qualities, Skills & Attributes Required:

    • Good written and verbal communication skills;
    • Be inquisitive; with a process background
    • University graduate
    • Professional qualification would be preferred
